Project Sustainability

Faranani Paralegal and Advice is an organisation that seeks to be self-reliant in that it seeks to generate its income in order to function independently, noting that we are in no way saying we reject any form of financial assistance but the aim is to remain independent to better serve the people we represent and those that we hope to audience from. How do we intend to do this? We already have a working relationship with Legal Aid South Africa Louis Trichardt branch (Makhado) where we hope to extend this relationship to the Tshwane region where we get instructions to represent clients in a variety of matters where we appoint one of our already well equipped attorneys/advocates who have intensive knowledge in that particular field of law to handle the cases at a particular rate where an indemnified fee from Legal Aid is paid to our office which in legal terms is referred to as Judi care where instructions from the office of Legal Aid are outsourced to an external third party, also noting that our we have aspirations to approach and propose a working relationship with private entities such as Clientele/Workers life legal for a similar relationship that we already have with Legal Aid.

Other alternative ways to generate funds is through Workshops and Training, Organize workshops, seminars, and training sessions on legal topics of interest to the community. Charge a fee for participants to attend these sessions and learn about their rights and responsibilities. Tshwane with so many educational institutions we intend to collaboration with educational Institutions, partner with universities or colleges to provide workshops, guest lectures, or educational materials related to legal studies. We already have an online platform through an existing Facebook page where we engage on a variety of legal topics, online Legal Marketplace create an online platform where individuals can connect with paralegals for specific legal tasks on a freelance basis, similar to platforms for freelance writing or graphic design

The project will invest in volunteers and by training trainers, providing them with training tools, promoting self- reliance and instilling a sense of community ownership, the project is geared towards selfsustenance. The Centre has been in existence since 2019 and has worked with communities, and has the experience and capacity through its staff and trained volunteers (youth) in different communities within the district.

The envisaged project will be based on popular education methodology, ensuring that training leads to community mobilization and collective action for transformation. This cascading model i.e., the multiplier effect so that once there is an adequate core group of trainers, they train others and subsequently the communities are involved to sustain the project.

The project will initiate income-generating activities for beneficiary communities and families, especially for women and people with disabilities, the project will engage developing reliable database and information services to stakeholders.
